Membership Criteria

Active Members: Available to any MD or DO from an accredited medical school, certified (or eligible for certification) by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and whose practices are limited to Ophthalmology.

In-Training Members: Available to any MD or DO and serving in a recognized AMA/AOA approved Ophthalmology residency program or fellowship program (documentation must accompany this application)

New applicants are approved by the Board of Directors. Until final approval by the board, applicants are considered "pending".
All FSO member benefits will be available as soon as your application fee is processed. Depending on your application date, it may take up to six months to receive your membership certificate and welcome packet. The FSO membership period extends from Jan 1 to Dec 31 and there is no proration available.
