Welcome

Dear Colleague,

The Florida Society of Ophthalmology cordially invites you to our grand Annual Meeting that is being held June 20-22, 2008, at the world-renowned Breakers Resort in Palm Beach. Entitled Tracking New Trends in Ophthalmology, our program is filled with educational activities for you and your entire office staff. In addition, there will be fun-filled activities for all participants and their families at this legendary resort.

The very popular and enlightening American Academy of Ophthalmology's CODEquest seminar is offered on Friday for physicians, administrators and office staff. On Saturday there is an all-day Office Administrators Program that complements the CODEquest Seminar.

Your technicians and nurses will delight in an engaging JCAHPO-sponsored regional program held all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning.

Our Physician's Program begins Friday afternoon with an Ethics lecture as well as a Resident Research Symposium. Attendees and guests are invited to attend the Exhibitor's Welcome Reception on Friday evening.

The Physician's Program continues on Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon with cutting-edge, educational lectures from nationally recognized faculty over a broad spectrum of current ophthalmic topics.

On Saturday evening, we invite everyone to attend the President's Welcome Reception and Dinner in the elegant Circle Room for festive dining and dancing. A simultaneous children's program offers supervision and childcare as well as fun activities and dinner for the kids.

On Sunday morning, a risk-management seminar will cover critical topics affecting many ophthalmologists performing surgery in Florida. Physicians attending this program will qualify for OMIC-insured discounts on their premium. Subspecialty day will be held on Sunday commencing with a general session for the first half of the morning, followed by subspecialty symposia including Glaucoma, Oculoplastics, Pediatric-Ophthalmology, Refractive Surgery and Retina. Speakers will include annual meeting faculty as well as our own FSO members. Be sure to sign up for one on your registration form. If you are interested in presenting, please contact the FSO office for more details.

The Florida Society of Ophthalmology Board wishes to thank all faculty, members and attendees for their support and participation. The FSO strives to provide exceptional educational opportunities for members and their staff, in a relaxing, fun and family-friendly venue. Attire is resort casual for the weekend. Remember to book your rooms at the Breakers as soon as you can for the fantastic FSO Meeting rate; you won't want to be left out of this well-attended meeting. We look forward to seeing you in Palm Beach!
