Zelia M. Correa, MD, PhD renowned for her expertise in ocular oncology and vitreoretinal surgery, has assumed the presidency of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology (FSO). The appointment came following elections held during the FSO's Annual Business Meeting on Saturday, June 7, in Orlando.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – (June 13, 2022) – Retina disease and surgery specialist Joseph T. Nezgoda, MD, MBA was installed as president of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology (FSO). Elections were held during the Annual Business Meeting for the FSO which took place on Saturday, June 11 in Orlando.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – (July 12, 2021) – Glaucoma and cataract specialist Javier Perez, MD, was installed as president of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology (FSO). Elections were held during the FSO Annual Business Meeting, which took place in Palm Beach on Saturday, July 10.
The Florida Society of Ophthalmology (FSO) nominating committee met on Wednesday, May 26 and was chaired by the president, Sarah Wellik, MD. The membership will vote on the slate below during the Annual Business Meeting, that will be held Saturday, July 10 in conjunction with the Masters in Ophthalmology 2021 meeting in Palm Beach.
RECOMMENDATION: THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS THE SLATE BELOW FOR THE 2021-2022 TERM.
