FSO Participates in Annual Florida Vision Summit
Last week FSO sponsored the Sixth Annual Florida Vision Summit. This event is hosted by the Florida Legislature's Vision Caucus and the Florida Association of Agencies Serving the Blind (FAASB) and educates those living with vision loss and promotes the importance of maintaining early-intervention services for blind babies.
During the event, speakers make presentations to assist Florida leaders in understanding key vision-related issues impacting Florida citizens. FSO President-Elect Charles B. Slonim, MD provided a presentation on Medical Advances in Retinopathy in Premature Babies as part of the day's events.
“Our mission at the Florida Society of Ophthalmology is to promote the highest standard of eye care throughout the state of Florida, and participating in the annual Vision Summit is a proud tradition for our society and our physician members,”said Dr. Slonim. “We are grateful for the efforts of our colleagues at the FAASB for educating Florida families about the resources available to blind and visually-impaired individuals.”
FSO has been a sponsor of the Vision Summit since its inception and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the Vision Caucus.
