Multifocal choroiditis, panuveitis, punctate inner choroidopathy are related

From the American Academy of Ophthalmology

Investigators retrospectively evaluated multimodal imaging findings of lesions classified as either multifocal choroiditis and panuveitis (MCP) or punctate inner choroidopathy (PIC). Despite the names of these diseases, the principle sites involved appears to be the subretinal pigment epithelium and outer retinal spaces. Because both conditions target the same essential structures in the same phenotypic manner, and because treatment protocol in the active phase is the same, they conclude that there’s limited clinical utility in trying to differentiate them.
