Ninel Z. Gregori, MD, receives The Michael R. Redmond, MD Outstanding Young Ophthalmologist Award
PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Florida Society of Ophthalmology (FSO), the preeminent professional association for medical and osteopathic physicians who specialize in vision care, is pleased to announce that Ninel Z. Gregori, MD, received The Michael R. Redmond, MD Outstanding Young Ophthalmologist Award at its Annual Meeting, Masters in Ophthalmology, held June 28-30 in Palm Beach, FL.
Established in honor of Michael R. Redmond, MD, this annual award recognizes a Florida-based ophthalmologist under the age of 40 who has demonstrated organizational leadership, service, competence and devotion to the high ethical and professional standards of the FSO.
Dr. Gregori is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine in Miami, Florida. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been a member of the FSO since 2010.
Dr. Gregori is also a current member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), and the Association of Veterans Affairs Ophthalmologists.
Dr. Gregori received her undergraduate and medical degree from The University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She completed an internal medicine-ophthalmology internship at the University of Utah Hospital prior to joining Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for an Ophthalmology residency. Dr. Gregori also completed a Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and went on to join the faculty in 2007. In addition, Dr. Gregori was awarded the American Society of Retina Specialists Service Award in 2012.
