Study suggests possible reason for increased risk of early PCO in highly myopic eyes
From the American Academy of Ophthalmology
Investigators used a custom-built ultralong-scan-depth OCT to evaluate patients at various time points after cataract surgery, from four hours to 28 days. Subjects were either highly myopic or emmetropic. Imaging revealed weak capsular adhesion and incompletely adhesive types of capsular bend in highly myopic eyes. These features presumably increase the likelihood of PCO during the early postoperative period. American Journal of Ophthalmology, March 2013
