A survey of 408 patients with glaucoma shows that younger age is a predictor for anxiety, while older age and increasing glaucoma severity were risk factors for depression. The authors believe it’s essential for physicians to provide patients with appropriate psychological care as well as ophthalmological care to prevent them from developing anxiety and depression.
