This systematic review and comprehensive meta-analysis finds that hypertension and increased systolic and diastolic blood pressure were consistently associated with increased IOP across published studies. Hypertension was also positively associated with the risk of primary open-angle glaucoma, although the association was significant in cross-sectional but not in case-control or longitudinal studies.
